Researchers have recently found a new form of spyware which targets the operating system for mobile phones. These types of spyware are becoming increasingly more common which means they are becoming a security issue for the sensitive data many carry in their mobile devices.

This new form of spyware is a form of Trojan that tracks SMS text messages and allows them to be ready by other. After some research McAfee found that the new Trojan particularly targets Nokia Series 60 devices and the spyware is a popular form of a malware.

While most methods of infection on mobile devices are still secure since they require user confirmation this is still something for users to look out for. While widespread spyware infections are unlikely on current mobile devices it may not be long before new spyware is developed that can easily infect mobile devices. Therefore, it is important for consumers to be alert when using their mobile devices.
