Adware, Malware and Spyware - Precautions to Lessen The Harm and Remove These Malicious Programs Permanently

First came viruses, then the danger of being hacked and finally the dread of spyware. Any of them can become a headache, but if you want to remove spyware from your computer, you may find yourself in a more troublesome situation than a virus infection or a hacker.
Why? Because it’s awfully difficult to find it. If you want to learn how to remove spyware, you will need to acquire some knowledge on how does your enemy work.

What Is Spyware Exactly?

It appeared by the end of the last century. At that time it limited itself to the illegally monitoring of internet users, gathering data on their preferences. Afterwards that information was sold for marketing purposes. But as time went by, the term spyware has broadened to a series of other malicious schemes. All related to illegal actions, of course.

The most common one is adware. These little programs are, most of the times, installed in the user’s computer without their authorization. Unfortunately, some providers use the innocence and naiveté of beginners or first timers and exploit this weakness, making them think that they are not installing an adware.

Once inside, an adware starts generating pop up windows, with advertisement that is focused to the interests you have shown in the internet. For example, let’s say that you like fishing. It won’t be too much time after many of the pop up’s will start showing ads on magazine subscription related to fishing, fishing stores or fishing trips.

Although they may seem as a good idea for an internet newbie, it isn’t. These programs consume a lot of the resources available in your PC (specially RAM). It won’t be long after you start noticing that your computer takes a lot of time loading programs.

On the other hand, you have Malware. Sound strange, doesn’t it? But what is Malware?

These programs are specifically designed for causing harm. They cover a series of other dangerous programs like Malware viruses and Trojan horses, but when it is related to spyware, their focus is money. The three principal tactics are key logging, taking control of the modem for long and expensive 1-900 calls and sending spam email to the contacts in your address book. It must be mentioned that Malware removal is the most difficult kind of spyware to remove. So, if you find a web page offering free Malware removal with a click or a free Malware remover, do not expect a complete job. It’s probable you will have to pay a fee for a better “search and destroy” service.
