Tips on How To Remove Spyware

There are several ways through which you can learn on how to remove spyware from your computer. Depending on your level of expertise, you should choose which one is better for you:

Add/Remove Programs

The most basic line of defense is that any user can access the control panel and choose which programs he wishes to remove. Unfortunately, most of the spyware programs do not disappear entirely when uninstalled. So don’t expect that this action will really delete spyware from your computer.

Antispyware Software

No computer should be without one of this. Now at the same level of an antivirus or a firewall, antispyware software should be run everyday and constantly updated. It may seem as a lot of work, but in reality it is done automatically. Look for the most popular ones and test them for some time. Although some of them are free, the best ones usually cost an annual subscription of thirty to forty dollars.

Hijack This

This free program is a bit more complicated than your standard antispyware software, but also more complete. Unfortunately, it’s not for a user with basic computer knowledge. It may even challenge the capacity of some advanced users. The premise of Hijack This is to go to where antispyware software doesn’t go, examining determined areas of your computer that may be vulnerable to spyware. Once they are found, the user has to determine which one is spyware and which isn’t. Unless you are suffering a massive attack of spyware and don’t want to reinstall all of your software, don’t use it. You may cause serious damage to your operating system.

Spyware Forums

There are lots of these around the net. You may find them at the support web pages of anti spy ware program companies or in specialized forums. Either way they are of some help, especially if you wish to know how to remove Malware. Unfortunately, spyware actualize themselves rather quickly, so it’s quite probable that the information you are going to find is old or isn’t useful anymore.

Manual Removal from Registry

The most advanced and dangerous way of removing spyware from your computer. These kinds of solutions are often mentioned in forums, but be careful; they may be too old to be useful. Unless you are a computer expert, it’s not recommended to the majority of users.

Complete System Restore

There is a last solution. Although it is recommended to reinstall all of your software once a year, you may find yourself in a situation where a series of spy wares have taken control of your computer and don’t let you work. Although it can take a couple of days to reinstall everything (consider that you need to do updates too), it is the safest way to assure yourself that no spyware remains in your PC. But beware; do not think that once you have done it you won’t need to take some basic defense measures.

So, now that you know how to remove spyware from your computer, you should choose which option is best for you, depending on your level of expertise and the amount of time you have available. Remember that if you want to permanently remove Malware or automatically remove spyware, you need to install a firewall, an antivirus and an anti spy ware program. Unfortunately, spyware is here to stay.
