A Browser Helper Object, or BHO, is just a small program that runs
automatically every time you start your Internet browser. Usually,
a BHO is installed on your system by another software program or utility.
BHO tracks which sites, advertisements you see as you surf the Web.
Of course, many BHOs are what is called "ad-ware" or "spyware":
they do things like monitor the websites you visit and report this
data back to the people who developed them. Many companies offer free
spyware detection to detect spy ware by using some spy ware detection
software.
Spy ware is a general term used for software program that perform
certain behaviors such us advertisement, collecting personal information,
or changing the configuration of your computer without your consent.
The term spy ware or adware is associated with software that display
advertisements or software that collect personal information.
Dialer is software that gets installed in your computer and has
the ability to make phone calls from your computer without your
knowledge if you had a modem. This program will connect you to other
computer through your phone line and these numbers are pay per call
numbers and you get charged for the amount of time your computer
is connected to the net – usually related to porn sites.

Browser Home Page is Changed
The home page is the page what the browser displays the moment you
open it. Some ISPs even offer or redirect their customer’s first
web access to their own portal. The unwanted software has the ability
to change or hijack your web page or search page to the page, which
you don’t need. These programs also make it very difficult to
return to the original home page.
Browser Redirects
The browser redirect is a tool that will allow creating a page that
detects the visitor’s browser and automatically it loads a page
depending on which browser is used. That is the browser redirect will
be requested to redirect a file, folder, a network share, or a program
in Internet information service. When a browser requests a page on
a web site, the web server will locate the page that is identified
by URL, and then return to the browser. The IIS is used to redirect
the client computer request to a new location automatically even if
the user does not want it.
Browser Pops Ads
The pop-up ads are a form of online advertising on the World Wide
Web intended to increase web traffic or capture email addresses. When
a new web browser window is opened on a certain web sites to display
advertisement the pop up works. This opens a browser window behind
the active window. This makes it difficult for the user to determine
which web site he has opened in the first place and cause high nuisance.
