Ad Ware
Ad ware is any software application in which advertising banners are displayed while the program is running. The applications' developers include additional code that displays the ads, which are viewed through pop-up windows or through a bar that appears on a computer screen.
Ad ware has been regarded with suspicion because it usually includes a code that tracks a user's personal information and passes it on to third parties, without the user's authorization or knowledge.
Privacy software expert Steve Gibson of Gibson Research explains that spy ware is software that uses your internet connection without your knowing it and without getting permission from you. If you are planning to make use of the internet in this way then you need to make a truthful statement to the user about your activities. And then you need to obtain his or her full permission. If a software is operating across the web and does not follow these procedures then its actions can be defined as identity theft and it would be appropriate to call it spyware
A number of software applications, including Ad-Aware and Opt Out (by Gibson's company), are available as freeware to help computer users search for and remove suspected spy ware programs.
The justification for ad ware is that it helps in recovering programming development cost.
