Microsoft Anti Spy Ware
Microsoft Antispyware is a a software product that Microsoft has created which has been designed to prevent, remove and quarantine spy ware on Microsoft's Windows XP, Windows Vista operating systems and Windows Server 2003. It is currently known as Windows Defender. You can get it as a free download from Microsoft's web site and it is an integrated component of Windows Vista.
Microsoft Antispyware is based on GIANT AntiSpyware which was originally created by GIANT Company Software; Inc. Microsoft acquired the company in 2004.
In 2005 Bill Gates announced that Microsoft AntiSpyware will be made available without any cost to all users of Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 who have a valid license so that Windows users all over the world can be free from the threat of Mal ware.
Microsoft AntiSpyware features scanning of the system like other free products on the market. It also has numerous Real-Time Security Agents that keep a check on several common areas of Windows to ensure that no changes occur that are caused by spy ware.
Microsoft AntiSpyware also can remove easily already installed ActiveX applications. You will also find support for Microsoft's SpyNet™ network integrated. This will permit users if they suspect any form of spy ware to report it to the company.
There are three versions to this software namely Beta 1, Beta 2 and RTM.
